The Delsea Power Squadron is a non-profit organization dedicated to safe boating education and promoting high standards of navigation and seamanship.. The squadron is a unit of District 5 of the United States Power Squadrons (USPS)^®. Districts tie a geographical group of Squadrons together (see map) and provide administrative oversight. USPS is the national organization that overviews and provides services to the Districts and Squadrons. History of the USPS^®

The Delsea squadron covers the greater Atlantic, Cumberland and Salem County areas of Southern New Jersey. Our members are primarily power boaters along with several sailors.

Delsea conducts numerous NJ State approved "Safe Boating"  classes for the general public.

Delsea also teaches advanced and elective courses for our members. A member can progress from basic boating knowledge to advanced navigation through the comprehensive courses offered. Members can also take courses in marine electronics, sail, engine maintenance, cruise planning, weather, and many other specialty interests.

SAFE BOATING does not just happen.    If you are on the waterways, it is important to have basic boating knowledge, like "rules of the road".  These rules will define who is expected to do what under any given situation during normal operation of their boat, or in a emergency situation. You can learn all this, and more,  by taking the classes offered by the Cape Fear Power Squadron.

Upon completion of our Safe Boating Course, please consider joining the Delsea Power Squadron and continuing your boating education by taking our advanced classes.  You would become a member of Americans Boating Club® and become part of a strictly volunteer, non-profit organization, that has an objective of Self Education, being a Fraternal Boating Club, and performing Civic Services.  If you are a member of the United States Power Squadrons who has moved into this area and want to transfer to the Cape Fear Power Squadron, please contact the Squadron Secretary.
